I’ve decided that if anyone ever questions my dedication to this blog, I’m going to show them this post.
Why, you ask?
Because in order to make it happen, I had to go out and shovel myself a path through the snow.
If you live in a warmer climate, and you’re curious as to what it’s like taking blog photos in a snowy winter, let me be the first to tell you that it’s not fun. The weather is totally unpredictable. You might think you know what you’re stepping out into. But you don’t. Not even a little bit.
There are so many different factors that come into play when you’re shooting in these types of conditions. The snow might be frozen and icy, forcing you to worry about slipping. The windchill (or the temperature for that matter) might be below zero, causing you to wonder if it’s possible for your fingers to freeze off. And worst of all, you can’t wear sunglasses.
GUYS.
The only pose I do is the sunglass clutch.
I seriously could go on and on about this. But you get the point. Winter is terrible. Blah, blah, blah. I digress.
Anyway, despite winter being difficult to shoot photos in, I made it my goal to get a few of them done this week. It’s been a little while since I’ve done any fashion posts. And I got some new clothes recently that I’ve been wanting to show on here.
It was 30 degrees outside today. And compared to the past couple of weeks, it felt like a heatwave. I actually thought it was a heatwave when I went outside with Ellie this morning. I couldn’t believe it when I skimmed the weather forecast and saw that it wasn’t even above freezing.
So, I decided to do a fun little OOTD and share a look that I’ve been adoring lately.
The outfit consists of just three basic pieces (four if you count the coat): a dress, leggings, and over-the-knee boots. Over-the-knee boots have quickly become a major favorite of mine, so be prepared to listen to to me rave about them for the next couple of months.
The dress is a simple maroon piece, consisting of a sweater-style top and a flow-y bottom. To be honest, I’m not quite sure if it was intended to be a sweater or a dress (some pieces are just like that, you know). But I always pair it with boots and leggings, so it doesn’t really make a difference.
To finish off the look, I threw on my favorite black-and-white coat. It’s very comfortable, and it pairs well with virtually everything.
Outfit Details:
Dress: Hooked Up
Coat: Jessica Simpson
Boots: XOXO
What’s your favorite thing to wear right now?
