Five Skincare Products You NEED to Try

One of my favorite topics to read about is skincare. I love scrolling through articles about the latest trends in skincare and discovering new tips + techniques that help make skin better. It’s been a while since I’ve done a beauty-centric post, so I figured I would share some of my current skincare must-haves, particularly for the spring and summer.

The scent of this stuff is addictive. Seriously, if you haven’t already smelt it, you need to get in your car and drive to your nearest beauty store ASAP…it’s that good. Although it’s on the pricer end, it’s one of those products that’s worth every penny. My biggest gripe with lotions/creams/body butters/products of this nature is that they take too long to absorb in to my skin, leaving me with this weird, greasy residue all over my arms and hands. It’s that same feeling you get on your fingers after you’ve eaten a bag of chips. Oily, slimy, and, frankly, gross. The Brazilian Bum Bum Cream isn’t like that. It soaks up into my skin almost instantly, and its moisturizing effects last all day. It’s a worthwhile investment if you’re like me and have dry skin.

I rave about a select few products more than once here on the blog, and this foaming cream cleanser from Korres is one of them. Infused with Greek yogurt for a nourishing effect, this cleanser works to reduce dryness and redness. The lather is smooth and silky, making it feel light on skin, and it has that deep clean effect without leaving your face dry or irritated. It’s a refreshing product to use at the end of a long day, when all you want is for your skin to feel clean + balanced.  In addition, the product is cruelty-free, paraben free, and made with over 86 percent natural ingredients.

A rejuvenating daily moisturizer, Tarte’s Drink of H2O works to hydrate and soothe dry skin. It absorbs quickly, making it the perfect product to put on right before you do your makeup. It’s a gel-based formula, which is different but cooling. It’s great for dry patches, too. I love how refreshed it makes my skin feel, especially in the summertime. It has a light, breathable texture that I cannot get enough of.

What’s the most aggravating thing about spring/summer? Humidity. Not only is it uncomfortable, but it’s also nightmarish for your skin, making it sticky, oily, and greasy. Enter Milk Makeup’s Cooling Water. Packed with caffeine and seawater, this gel stick works to de-puff eyes and energize skin. It’s a wonderful product to swipe across your face on the aforementioned humid days.

Although a tinted moisturizer may not technically fall under the category of skincare, I decided to include this one from Tarte because it contains arguably the most important skincare ingredient there is: SPF. Protecting your skin from UVB rays is critical, particularly now that it’s getting brighter outside. Using makeup that contains sunscreen can allow you to protect your skin without exerting any extra effort. This water-based tinted moisturizer, which gives you light, natural-looking coverage, is an easy item to incorporate into your beauty routine.

Thank you so much for reading! 🙂

  1. Love all your choices. Totally agree about the Brazilian bum bum cream. I got mine as a treat in a beauty advent calendar last Christmas and I was sooo impressed by the quality and yes, the smell too! I’ve never used the cooling water, is it a spray mist?
