Hello friends!
I’m feeling chatty today. And as a result, I want to do a post that feels conversational. It’s been a minute since I’ve done something about myself, so I figured now would be the perfect time to share a few facts about myself. So, if you’re new here or you’ve been reading along with me a while, here are some things you may not know about me.
#1: I hold my writing utensils weird
At least that’s what people tell me. While most people hold their pens and pencils between their thumb and index finger, I hold mine between my thumb and middle finger. I honestly don’t know when–or why I picked up this habit. In fact, I didn’t even realize that it was different from the way other people hold writing utensils until a few years ago. I thought about trying it the standard way, but ultimately decided not to. Given the fact that I’ve been writing like this for as long as I can remember, it seemed like it would be a lost cause.
#2: I knit. A lot.
Something you should know about me is that I love knitting. I’m the type of person who always wants to have something to do. Even if I’m doing something as mundane as watching Netflix or listening to music, I have to have something else to keep me busy. Most of the time, it’s knitting. I started knitting about six months ago, and it has turned into one of my favorite pastimes. I don’t make any complicated projects, and I don’t know a ton of stitches, but I really enjoy it. It keeps me occupied, and it’s always exciting to see the final product when I’m finally finished.

#3: Almost every outfit I wear is black, white, and maroon
If you were to scroll through some of my latest fashion posts, you may (or may not) be surprised to see that nearly every outfit I have on has some elements of black, white, and/or maroon. This isn’t intentional AT ALL. If anything, I try to avoid wearing these colors all the time because I don’t want to seem repetitive. However, they are the colors I’m most drawn to when I’m out shopping. And consequently, they are the colors of most of the pieces in my wardrobe.
#4: I didn’t show anyone I know IRL my blog for the first five months I was writing it
It wasn’t like I was embarrassed of my blog or anything. I just didn’t know how to feel about people I know in-person reading it. I think it might have been nerves. At times, it kind of felt like I was leading a double life (a la Hannah Montana). I would take photos whenever I knew no one was around and shop for blogging-related things by myself.
I’m not super secretive about my blog anymore. It isn’t something that I talk about all the time, but I’m not trying to pretend my blog doesn’t exist.
#5: I have a collection of snow globes
I love snow globes, and I think it’s fun to pick a new one up each time I take a trip somewhere. It’s a cool way to commemorate the experience and all the fun anecdotes that came out of it.

#6: I HATE chewing gum
One thing that has remained constant throughout my life is my hatred for gum. From peppermint to mixed fruit, gum has always been gross to me. I do, however, love mints.
#7: I LOVE running
This is definitely an unpopular opinion. I did a post all about my love for running ages ago, if you’re interested in the specifics. I feel so energized after I go for a run, and I really believe it can be a total game changer if I’m having a bad day. My philosophy is: when in doubt, run.
#8: I chose to do eight facts because eight is one of my favorite numbers
My actual favorite number is three, but I figured that wouldn’t be enough for a substantial blog post.
That’s all I’ve got for you today! Thank you so much for reading, and I hope you enjoyed.
What are some fun/interesting/unusual facts about you?

I hold my writing utensils weird too! I have mine between my thumb, index, and middle finger. I have to have all three for some odd reason. I blame my crocheting habits.
And I’m as bad as you with the wardrobe. Mine’s all black, red, and white.

So glad I’m not the only one to hold them weird! And those are great colors!

They are! But I am trying to branch out. I’ve included some blush pink into my wardrobe in the last year. I’m trying to decide what color to add in this year.

I’m all for weird pen-holding techniques. I do the left-handed scrunch myself and I have never felt the need to conform 😉 I have told very very few people in real life about my blog so I understand your point of view. It can feel a lot safer to be completely yourself when nobody knows who you are!

I love your post! I am not a fan of chewing gum either. I never understood the point of chewing something you couldn’t swallow. LOL.

The last one is too cute, LOL! I used to hold my pen between the thumb, index and middle finger but my parents forced me out of that habit so now it’s thumb and index.
Love,

thank you! And I probably would’ve gotten myself out of the habit if I had realized it early on haha! I just never noticed!

I hold my pens like that too! My family constantly points it out but I have neater handwriting than them so 🤷♀️
I’ve also not told anyone about my blog, too, so I get what you’re saying there!
Those colors are staples. Rock it, girl.

I’m only 14 now, but up until a year ago, I held my pens/pencils the exact same way you do!! My mom wanted me to change because I was getting sores in my middle finger lol so now I write normal and find it a bit more uncomfortable, but I mostly type everything now XD
