50 Ways to Destress Right Now

It’s no secret this time of year can be stressful, which is why I want to take a few minutes today to share some of my go-to ways of reducing stress. With everything going on right now, it can be difficult to remember the importance of relaxation and self-care. That being said, here are a few ways you can briefly take your mind off all the chaos of the holiday and give yourself a well deserved break.

50 WAYS TO DESTRESS RIGHT NOW

  1. Make a list of everything you need to get done before the holidays and assign specific tasks to each day. (It’s a lot easier to get things done when you’ve got a schedule to work with).
  2. Treat yourself to your favorite holiday beverage and a 15 minute break from all things work-related.
  3. Read a few inspiring quotes.
  4. Spend an hour away from the technology.
  5. Focus solely on the things you need to get done that you are looking forward to or excited about.
  6. Spend time with your pet.
  7. Slip into some comfy clothes and take a nap.
  8. Catch up with someone you haven’t seen in a while.
  9. Visit a park or somewhere scenic.
  10. Remind yourself to breathe.
  11. Go clothing shopping.
  12. Journal about the things stressing you out.
  13. Do some fun holiday cookie baking.
  14. Listen to music.
  15. Make a list of everyone you have to buy gifts for and jot down your present ideas.
  16. Head somewhere new.
  17. Pick up a new hobby.
  18. Step away from the things making you the most worried.
  19. Maintain a positive mindset.
  20. Open up a notebook and do some doodling.
  21. Envision your happy place.
  22. Clean out your junk drawer (we all have one, don’t we?)
  23. Have a look through your old holiday photos to get yourself in a festive spirit.

  25. Complete a crossword puzzle.
  26. Exercise for 30 minutes.

  28. Put on your favorite face mask, light a holiday candle, and give yourself a minute to breathe.
