Sharing my first gift guide of the 2018 holiday season today because I don’t know about you, but I have a lot of shopping to get done these next few weeks. Gift guides basically become my lifesavers around this time of year, so I thought I would write a few of my own, starting with beauty.
Bath Fizzes – We all need a pamper day every now and then, which is why bath fizzes are virtually a risk-free beauty gift (of course, unless you’re shopping for someone like me who doesn’t particularly like baths…but I think I’m in the minority on that). If you know a person’s favorite scents, you can find bath bombs that closely align with them.
Gel eye masks – A fantastic gift for someone who is always busy and doesn’t get a lot of sleep are gel eye masks. I received a set of these as a Christmas gift last year and really love them. You place them in your refrigerator for 10 minutes, allowing them to cool. Then, once that time has gone by, you take them out and place them over your eyes for several minutes. They help with puffiness and dark circles, and also allow your face to look and feel more awake.
Sleep masks – I love sleep masks, and I wear one every night. If you don’t own a sleep mask, let me tell you, you need to get one. They shield any and all light from your eyes, which, in turn, makes it easier for you to fall asleep. A sleep mask is an awesome thing to get someone.
Travel-sized eyeshadow palettes – If you’re looking for a high quality beauty-related item that falls somewhere in the $20-$30 range, a travel-sized eyeshadow palette is your best bet. Travel-sized palettes are great if you’re shopping for a makeup lover who frequently travels. Additionally, they tend to be very versatile. Even if you don’t know much about the beauty preferences of the person who you are buying it for, it’s more than likely that they will be able to create a look that fits their personal style.
Festive nail polish – Because what’s better than a festive manicure and pedicure? Nothing screams “holiday” quite like a glittery, red-and-green nail polish. A good gift for someone who loves nail art and the holiday season.
Beauty gift sets – An obvious one, I know, but beauty gift sets are great because they allow the gift receiver (that sounds so weird, but I can’t think of another word to use) to try out a bunch of different samples. I can’t speak for everyone, but I know I love using sample sizes. You don’t have to commit to a full-size version, but you still get a good idea of what the product is all about. It’s the perfect scenario.
Makeup bags – If you ask anyone who loves makeup, I’m pretty sure they will tell you that there is no such thing as too many makeup bags. Makeup bags are right up there on my list of needless things I love receiving as gifts, along with notebooks, planners, and stationary. Find a cute makeup bag and you can never go wrong.
Beauty box subscription – Beauty subscription boxes are probably my favorite item on this list, and definitely the most useful. Sephora Play, Birchbox, and Ipsy are all options. My personal favorite is Sephora Play. It’s a really cool way to test out different products. And, honestly, there’s nothing more exciting than getting makeup in the mail.
Anyway, here’s a full list of everything I’ve talked about.
