Everyone has a decade or two that they love the fashion of. For me, one of those decades is the 70s. Corduroy skirts, bell sleeves, and graphic tees are some of my all-time favorite trends. There’s just something so stylish yet so effortless about 70s fashion that makes it great.
That being said, today I am sharing with you three outfits inspired by 70s fashion! I spent some time gathering inspiration via Pinterest and then headed to my closet to find pieces that I though encapsulated the style of the decade. I hope you have fun seeing what I came up with!
OUTFIT #1
OUTFIT DETAILS:
TOP: Stoosh
SKIRT * (similar): Zappos
BOOTS * (similar): Off 5th
SUNGLASSES * (similar): Full Tilt
Flouncy fabrics and corduroy skirts are two of the biggest trends to come out of the 70s, which is why I decided to combine them for look number one. This bell sleeved cream top looks like it came straight out of the 70s. The button-down skirt is super cute and super comfortable, and I think the combination of cream and olive green works really well. For finishing touches, I went with black over-the-knee boots and sunglasses with circular lenses.
OUTFIT #2
OUTFIT DETAILS:
ROMPER * (similar): Flying Tomato
VEST: Nordstrom Rack
BOOTS: Vionic
To keep the bohemian vibes going in outfit number two, I chose to throw this fun crochet vest over my favorite rose-printed romper. I felt like the flowing strands hanging off the vest were the perfect addition to a 70s inspired look. Also, (I’m not sure if it’s visible to you or not) the vest has a crochet floral design in several different sections. Floral patterns were a big part of 70s fashion, so I was glad to have them represented in both of the major components of this outfit. I kept the rest of the look pretty minimal, adding only a pair of black booties and circle sunglasses.
OUTFIT #3
OUTFIT DETAILS:
TOP: Belle Du Jour
JEANS * (similar): Missguided
SUNGLASSES * (similar): Full Tilt
BOOTS (similar): 6 P.M.
For my final look, I decided to put a little twist on 70s fashion, using pink, purple, and maroon. While I didn’t see a lot of these colors in the 70s looks that I browsed as I was putting together this lookbook, I had this loose-fitting floral top in my closet that just screamed boho to me, and I knew I had to make an outfit of it. Paired with high-waisted light-wash jeans and maroon booties, this top works both as an ode to 70s fashion and a casual outfit that could be worn on a day-to-day basis.
I hope you enjoyed checking out these looks! If there are any lookbooks you would be interesting in seeing, feel free to let me know. I am always looking for new ideas!
