Hello! Happy Tuesday!
Today I wanted to pop on here to offer a little piece of weekday inspiration. I stumbled upon a quote on Pinterest a little while ago that really caught my attention. I think it’s the kind of message that we all could use from time to time. Especially if we’re having a tough week.
I’m thinking about making this a monthly (or bi-monthly…I’m very indecisive when it comes to these things) series on the blog. It would basically just consist of short posts about what currently inspires me. Quotes, podcasts, books. Let me know if you’d like to see more of these.
That being said, I’ve really drawn a lot of inspiration from this quote the past couple of weeks.
“If the plan doesn’t work, change the plan but never the goal.”
I think this quote captures the mindset we should all have when it comes to failure. That it’s important to keep your eye on your end goal despite the obstacles you may face.
Plans may fail you every now and then. And it’s perfectly okay to give up on a plan that doesn’t work for you. But you can never allow yourself to forget why you made the plan in the first place.
If there’s a goal out there that you’re willing to do virtually anything to achieve, make it your top priority. Don’t enable past failures to interfere with future successes. Getting where you want to go may require you to make many changes to your plans. In fact, it might force you to scrap some of them and start completely from scratch.
But the important thing to remember is that there is a plan out there that leads to your success. It may not necessarily be the one that you expected, but it very much exists. No one should be afraid to give up on a failing plan and begin a new one if its end goal is the same as the first.
Not all plans work out. And that’s simply a fact of life.
But even as plans change, goals shouldn’t.
I really like this mentality, and I hope you do, too.
Here’s to a week of prioritizing our goals, not our plans.
