Monthly Goals: August 2018

Hello, August.

I’m having a hard time believing that July is already over (seriously, where has the time gone?!?), but it’s time to gear up for the month ahead. I love what the beginning of a new month signifies. Fresh starts, new opportunities, the chance to put your best foot forward. And right now I think the most effective way for me to do that is to kick off the month with some goals.

1. Add at least 15 new blog post ideas to my continuous list 

I have a very specific way I like to blog, and one of the things it involves is keeping a long, continuous list of blog posts. I like having my blog post topics planned out for in advance because I think it makes it easier for me when I actually go to write the posts. That being said, my goal for the month of August is to brainstorm at least 15 brand new post ideas. I know that’s a lot to ask of myself, but I think I could use the challenge.

2. Add new stretches to my workout routine 

My daily workout usually consists of a run, stretches and arm and leg exercises. This month, I would like to add a few different stretches to the workout routine, just so I can mix things up.

3. Read a book a week 

One of my previous month’s goals was to read more, which I felt like I was only able to somewhat accomplish. I love reading, but with other things going on in my life, I often find it hard to make time to do it. I think if I make the effort, however, I will be able to read at least one book a week this August. (That being said, if you have any good recommendations, let me know!)

4. Post on my Instagram stories every day 

Historically, I have had a back-and-forth relationship with Instagram stories. I have moments when I find it so easy to remember to post on them. Then, I have other moments when I can’t think of a single thing that would work. My hope for the month is to balance that out by posting at least once every day. I feel like stories are so fun and interactive, and I would love to get more consistent with my posting.

Well, those are my main focuses for the month of August. I’m trying to keep things simple this month in terms of goals in the hope that it will make it easier to achieve them. I’ll try to keep you updated on how well things work out, and I would definitely be interested in hearing about everything you have planned for this month!

  1. Books have been a huge one for me nearly every month this year just because I never get around to reading as much as I would actually like to! I also dropped off a bit in terms of going to the gym and working out so that’s definitely a goal to get back into it this month! xx

  2. Those sound like great goals for August! Have you tried doing sun salutations? I added them into my exercise routine last month, and they make my brain feel nice and crisp 🙂 Here’s to the prosperous August ahead!

  3. Best of luck with your monthly goals. I can’t believe it’s August already, it will be Christmas in no time! I love your one about reading more, I really want to start doing this but it feels like the time during the day just flies by, and there’s so much that needs to be done!
