Summer Lookbook

Well, hello!

I hope it’s bright and sunny where you are today. It has been for me. I spent a good chunk of the afternoon sitting outside, trying to appreciate the warm weather for as long as I could. It’s hard to believe that it’s just about to be August. How is that even possible? Pretty soon, it’s going to September. Which means fall. Which means no more warm days like today. Gah, I don’t even want to think about it.

And I’m not going to. Instead, we are going to spend today chatting about summer fashion. I’ve been meaning to put up a summer lookbook for several weeks now, but finding the time to plan outfits, write, shoot and edit photos has been tricky. And I won’t even get into all the photoshoot disasters I’ve had recently. But let me tell you, I’ve probably already got enough of them for another outtakes post.

While it’s taken some time, this little summer lookbook is finally completed! I have a lot of fun doing these, and I really hope you enjoy reading them. Fashion has always been one of my favorite topics to write about, and I am so happy to be doing more of it.

With that being said, here are several outfits I’ve enjoyed wearing this summer!

For outfit number one, I went with something simple and flowy. I’ve had this colorful blouse in my closet forever. The fabric is super light and airy, which is perfect for summertime. Plus, I think it pairs nicely with the denim skirt. Add the cateye sunglasses and the cream colored wedges, and you’ve got a fun, warm weather outfit. I wear this all the time, both around the house and when I’m out and about. It’s comfortable and versatile.

Outfit number two was definitely more laid back than outfit number one. Here I am wearing a black-and-white polka dot top, burnt orange jean shorts, and black Converse. I really like this look for chill days of running errands or doing work at home. I think the burnt orange color of the shorts adds a stylish pop of color to an otherwise simple outfit. Also, I feel like you can never go wrong with Converse.

The third and final outfit I have for you today is probably my favorite, as well as my most worn. I got this pretty mint green floral shorts last year at my local thrift store for only $3. They are really comfortable and in great condition, too. I paired them with this cream blouse, which I tied in the front to make a bit more casual, and cream wedges. The shoes make all the difference here. With wedges, this seems a bit more dressy. However you can easily swap them out for a pair of sandals if you’re looking for a more laid-back vibe. Overall, it has been one of my go-to outfits for the summer.

That concludes this summer lookbook! Thank you so much for reading!

  1. Those floral shorts are stunning! I can’t believe you picked them up for so cheap too, I’d be wearing them all the time! Outfit number 3 is definitely my favourite but I adore the different style of the denim skirt too. I’ve been looking to find one for ages but can’t seem to get one that fits me right and they can be really straight fitting sometimes and I’m a bit more on the curvy side! Also I’m not going to lie, I’m soo looking forward to Autumn and the cold days, haha!
