Small Random Haul

I have done a little bit of shopping over the past couple of weeks, and today I thought I would share everything I bought. Some clothing items. Some beauty things. It’s kind of a mixed bag.

The first thing I picked up was this adorable denim mini skirt from Express. (I got it on sale for $19.99, and this was the closest match I could find). I love denim skirts. I think they are fun, simple, and easy to style. Before finding this one, I had been shopping for a denim skirt for a while. You would think it would be easy to locate a denim skirt, given how popular they are. But if you are like me, and you get a very specific idea of what you want in mind before you buy something, it can actually be pretty difficult.

I spent so much time thinking about all the ways I would wear my denim skirt once I got it that nothing I saw in stores matched my expectations. The shade of denim was too light or too dark. The bottom of the skirt was too distressed or not distressed enough. You get the picture.

Fortunately, I was able to find this skirt while I was out shopping the other day. It was just the color and style that I was looking for. And, as an added bonus, it was on clearance. I can already see myself wearing this a lot, in both summer and fall. In fact, I will be shocked if you don’t see it in an OOTD post sometime in the near future.

Up next is another skirt. I thrifted this pretty J. Crew polka dot skirt for just $5, which I was really excited about it. It’s amazing how many great things you can find at the thrift store if you take the time to look. Anyway, this skirt is a lot different than anything else I own, and it’s definitely giving me major Blair Waldorf vibes. I absolutely adore the bubble skirt look, and I think it will be an interesting piece to style. I have a feeling I will end up saving it for fall and pairing it with a sweater and black tights. But maybe I will figure out a way to wear it this summer. Let me know what you all think.

Another item I picked up was this pale pink high neck tank top from Macy’s. I like picking up basic pieces like this because they are extremely versatile. This is a top I could probably find ways to wear in just about every season. It’s pretty and simple. Normally I don’t go for colors like pale pink, but I like the idea of adding something new and different to my wardrobe. It’s a good way to mix things up, I think.

The last clothing item that I got was a dark blue crewneck that I purchased during my recent trip to Chicago. I love crewnecks. And in my opinion, you can never have enough of them. This one is soft, comfortable, and easy to throw over whatever I am wearing. I like to bring it with me when I go places in the evening, knowing that it might get cold outside. It manages to keep me warm.

Moving on to beauty, I picked up a couple of things from Bath & Body Works. The first item I bought was the Pure Simplicity Fragrance Free Body Oil. I know I’ve mentioned this before on the blog, but I am sensitive to products with strong, perfume-y smells. They really irritate my throat and my nose. (So, as you can imagine, walking through the perfume section of department stores is an absolute nightmare for me). Anyway, since this product is labelled as “fragrance free” and “hypoallergenic,” I thought I would give it a try. It would be nice to have a product that works well and isn’t heavily scented.

The other thing I got at Bath & Body Works was the Happiness bath fizzy. This bath fizzy has fantastic reviews online, so I am very excited to see how it turns out. I have the Happiness lotion, and I think it works well. The smell is strong, but I still like it.

Well, those are just a few things I have picked up recently! As always, thank you for reading!

  2. Omg I know the struggle of knowing EXACTLY what you want and never find it…!! It happened to me 3 years ago or something, when I wanted to buy a denim short 😂 eventually I found one but after a year of looking in every single store!
