4 Awesome Smoothie Recipes

I love a good smoothie. Especially in the summertime. Whether I have just finished up a workout or spent the day lounging outdoors, there’s nothing I enjoy more than a refreshing fruit smoothie. Though making one can be a bit of a process, it’s a process that always ends up paying off.

Today I am sharing some of my favorite smoothie recipes. Some of them are simple. Some of them are different. But hopefully, you will be able to find something that you enjoy.

Before I get into it, I should first say that all of the recipes I have listed here make between 1 and 2 servings. If you want to make more than that, adjust the measurements accordingly.

Peanut Butter + Banana

This is without a doubt the EASIEST smoothie recipe out there. So easy that it probably doesn’t need directions or even an explanation. HOWEVER, it happens to be a favorite of mine, so I am going to include it regardless.

WHAT YOU’LL NEED

  • 1 cup of milk (skim, 1%, dairy-free…totally your preference)
  • 1 banana
  • 1-2 tablespoons of peanut butter
  • ice cubes

Like I said, super basic.

DIRECTIONS

  1. Pour 1 cup of milk into your blender. If you didn’t already know this, you should ALWAYS put your liquids first when you’re making a smoothie. It helps the ingredients blend better.
  2. Add in your banana and peanut butter.
  3. OPTIONAL: If you’re making this as a dessert, put some chocolate chips in as well. I promise you will thank me later.
  4. Cover the ingredients with ice and blend.

Orange Creamsicle

Another great smoothie if you’re looking for something that isn’t as typical as strawberry banana. It’s called orange creamsicle because that’s exactly what it tastes like. I LOVE whipping up one of these after I’ve finished up a run.

WHAT YOU’LL NEED

  • 1 cup of pulp-free orange juice
  • frozen mango chunks
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla syrup (optional)
  • ice cubes (optional)

DIRECTIONS

  1. Pour 1 cup of pulp-free orange juice into a blender.
  2. Cover the orange juice with frozen mango chunks. If you want it to be on the sweeter side, also add 1 teaspoon of vanilla syrup.
  3. OPTIONAL: Add in ice. You don’t necessarily need ice with this smoothie because the frozen mango chunks can take on its job. However, if you’re like me and you prefer your smoothies to be extra cold, you might want to include a few cubes.
  4. Blend and enjoy!

Strawberry, Blueberry, Raspberry

I am slowly but surely coming to the realization that all of these smoothie titles are basically just lists of what each smoothie contains. It’s not necessarily a bad thing. I just feel as though it has taken away from the intrigue. Especially with this one. I am not even going to bother trying to describe it.

WHAT YOU’LL NEED

  • 1 cup of milk (skim, 1%, dairy-free…totally your preference)
  • 1/4 cup vanilla yogurt
  • strawberries
  • raspberries
  • blueberries
  • ice cubes

DIRECTIONS

  1. Pour your desired liquid into a blender (we’re getting kind of redundant here, aren’t we?)
  2. Add your yogurt. I like to use vanilla yogurt because I think it gives it a nice flavor, but plain works just as effectively.
  3. Add in your fruits. The amount you add of each fruit should really depend on which ones you like the best. I prefer strawberries and raspberries to blueberries, so my smoothies usually have a lot more of them.
  4. Cover the whole thing with ice and blend.

Strawberry Pineapple

When I think about a smoothie, I don’t typically think about pineapple. Which is what I feel makes this smoothie both fun and refreshing.

WHAT YOU’LL NEED

  • 1 cup of milk (skim, 1%, dairy-free…totally your preference)
  • OPTIONAL: pineapple juice instead of milk
  • 1/4 cup vanilla yogurt
  • strawberries
  • pineapple tidbits
  • ice cubes

DIRECTIONS

  1. Pour your milk/pineapple juice into a blender.
  2. Add in your yogurt, strawberries, and pineapple tidbits.
  3. Cover the ingredients with ice.
  4. Blend!

ANYWAY, those are just a few of my favorite smoothies! If you enjoyed reading and would like to see more, feel free to let me know. I have got a ton of different recipes that I would love to share! 🙂
