Though it may seem that way, fashion blogging is not as simple as snapping a couple of photos and putting up a post. It requires a lot of trial and error. Scratch that. Fashion blogging is mostly trial and error. There’s no real way to get a handle on it, or account for one of the million different problems that can arise during a photography session. To put it simply, fashion blogging can be hard.
I seriously could rant to you about the myriad of things that have gone during my photo sessions. Weather conditions suddenly changing. Bugs flying in my face. Outfits not looking good on camera. HOWEVER, all of these issues pale in comparison to the one that’s been plaguing me since, well, day one.
Posing for photos.
I have such a hard time coming up with different ways to pose for photos. (I even wrote a post about said dilemma a while back.) Consequently, I end up with some funny outtakes. Today I thought I would share some of these photos, along with self-deprecating comments.
Originally, I was planning to save these till the end of the year and do a whole 2018 bloopers post. But I have a lot of them, and I figure I will probably accumulate a bunch more before the year is over. If you like this, let me know and I will try to do another.
Anyway, please enjoy some blog photos that didn’t quite make the cut!

Not looking at the camera? Check. Out of focus? Check.

When you attempt to fix your hair and you make it look worse…

I’m convinced shoe close-ups are impossible to shoot on a tripod.

Help! It appears I’m falling.

Not a blooper, but this was one of the most disastrous experiences I’ve ever had taking blog photos. It took me, like, a hundred tries just to get this shot (which isn’t even that great, tbh). Note to self: Posing on stairs is not a good idea when you’re shooting with a tripod. Also, hello random upside down container.

When you’re shooting with a tripod and you think the camera’s timer has gone off but it actually hasn’t…clearly I’m a professional.

Photobombed by the dog.

Regina George, the fashion blogger, part one.

Sideways camera + bad lighting + awkward smile = horrific blog photo.

Regina George, the fashion blogger, part two.

Seems I’ve forgotten the direction that the camera is in again.

Not exactly a blooper, but the sun was directly in my eyes during this shoot, so it was a pretty miserable experience. I’m about 80% sure that my eyes are actually closed in this photo.

Haha, ground, you’re so funny.

I actually used this one, but I had to include it because I just remembered the story behind it. It was really muddy when I shot this OOTD post, and I wanted to get inside as quickly as possible. When it came time to shoot a detail shot, I didn’t feel like wasting time adjusting the height of my tripod….so I didn’t. Instead, I crouched down (and in heels, mind you). The stern look you see on the part of my face that is included was from concentration.
Thank you so much for reading! If you liked this, please let me know! As I mentioned before, I am almost certain that I will end up with other photos like this, which I would be happy to share.
Are you a blogger? If so, do you have a lot of outtakes?
I love how real this post is!

Hahaha lovely post! It’s amazing to be able to laugh at yourself sometimes and don’t take things too seriously ! 😄 Eventhough I think some of the pictures are quite nice for bloopers 😆

I love posts like these! I love polished shots, but it’s always refreshing to see the reality behind them, and all the work that goes into making them perfect. 😊
