5 Summer Essentials You Need

With summer finally kicking into gear, I thought this would be a good time to share some of my seasonal must-haves.

I don’t about you, but I’m so ready for summer. Spring is nice and everything, but the weather can be inconsistent. One day it’s bitter and windy. The next it’s humid and sunny. You never really know what to expect from spring weather.

Since summer has more consistency to it, I feel like it’s easier to plan for it in terms of beauty and fashion. These are just a few items I tend to revert to around this time of year.

Tarteguard Tinted Moisturizer – I’ve never been a fan of foundation. I hate when products are super heavy and cakey, especially in the summertime. There’s nothing worse than when it’s humid outside and your foundation transforms into a thick, sweaty mess. That’s why I’ve always opted for tinted moisturizer and BB cream. They’re lighter, thinner, and overall less of a mess. This one from Tarte has been my go-to for about a year now. It gives the perfect amount of coverage. Plus, it has SPF.

NYX Extra Creamy Round Lipstick – Who could resist a good pink lipstick in the summer? I’m always looking for fun, colorful lipsticks during this time of year, and this line from NYX continuously has good ones. The formula of these lipsticks is rich and creamy. And the colors show up really well. If you’re on the hunt for a nice and inexpensive lipstick for summer, I would suggest starting with one of these.

Too Faced Milk Chocolate Soleil Bronzer – This is my go-to bronzer not just only in the summertime, but throughout the rest of the year as well. I love that it gives a little bit of extra dimension to my face. It’s a great bronzer if you’re looking for something simple and easy to use.

Floral shorts – I’m not a fan of jean shorts, to be honest. So, when summer rolls around, I usually find myself opting to wearing printed cotton shorts. My favorites are the ones with floral designs. I pair them with a basic tee and strappy sandals, and suddenly I’ve got a full-fledged outfit. The best part about these shorts is that they look stylish yet feel like pajama pants. To me, there’s nothing better than comfortable fashion.

Cat eye sunglasses – Sunglasses are obviously a summer must-have. And if you’re anything like me, the larger the sunglass frames, the better. Bold cat eye sunglasses are some of my absolute favorites. They’re fun and stylish. And they make a great statement. Also, since they match everything, you’ll be able to get a lot of use out of them.

Thank you for reading! 🙂
