We all have those days when we just don’t feel like ourselves.
On these days, the universe has seemingly decided anything that can go wrong will go wrong. From the moment you wake up, bad things start happening. You sleep through your alarm. You spill your morning coffee. And as the day goes on, things get progressively worse.
Today I thought I would share a few of my favorite quotes to look at on those defeating days. Hopefully if you are in need of a little pick-me-up, one of these quotes can give you a boost of positivity and inspiration.
“Get out of your own way”
This is such an important message, and I think it rings true for everyone in some way. Sometimes, we allow ourselves to get caught up in our doubts and in our worries, which, in turn, makes it harder for us to keep moving forward. During times like these, it’s a good idea to focus on the positive rather than the negative. Don’t become an obstacle in your own path.
“No rain, no flowers”
Bad things will happen, but it’s important to continue on in spite of that fact. Eventually, the bad will end, and the good will return. But unfortunately, you have to get through the hard parts first.
“I am not what happened to me. I am what I choose to become”
The past is the past, and ultimately there is nothing that can be done to change it. Moving ahead, it is best to remember that while what has happened cannot be altered, the present is completely malleable. A fresh start can begin at any point in time.
“Never stop looking up”
Always be in search of a positive. In every situation, it is important to be able to find the good.
“Create your own sunshine”
I LOVE this one. In fact, I actually have it hanging up on my wall. What I think is really wonderful about this quote is that it is about developing your own happiness and not relying on other people or outside factors to do it for you.
“Keep going. You are getting there”
Even in the toughest of times, it’s critical for you to remind yourself that you are going somewhere. Things may seem bleak, but you’re doing the best you can. It’s good to give yourself a simple reminder that what you are working for is all part of something bigger.
“Your attitude determines your direction”
This is an extremely powerful one if you are someone like me, and you struggle to maintain a positive attitude when faced with a difficult situation. My instinct is always to look for the bad or assume the worst. However, I’ve come to realize that this mindset only adds fire to an already negative situation, making it even more difficult to overcome. It’s important to remember that attitude is everything.
