Garden Flowers & Denim

It is very rare for me to have a day that is absolutely perfect for OOTD posts.

About ninety-five percent of the time, something goes wrong. Whether my camera has a sudden malfunction or the weather takes an abrupt turn for the worse, there is usually some kind of uphill battle that I am forced to overcome in order to make fashion posts happen. That’s sounds super melodramatic, I know. But I swear I have the WORST luck when it comes to shooting these types of photos. You have no idea how many times I’ve shot stuff only to hate it and end up completely scrapping it. Like I said, something always goes wrong.

Not today though. For reasons unknown, today was one of those rare exceptions where everything managed to go according to plan. Besides a couple of bees trying to attack me (which is pretty much inevitable when you’re shooting near plants and flowers), things went seamlessly. No camera issues. No weather problems. Complete and total perfection.

That probably means that the next time I try and take OOTD photos will be a MAJOR disaster. Oh well. I am going to enjoy this while I can.

Today’s OOTD is fun and flowery. Originally, that’s what I wanted to title this post, but I couldn’t think of another word beginning with the letter f that encapsulated the essence of the outfit. Festive didn’t really sound right, and I honestly didn’t want to spend time thinking about it. So, unfortunately, there will be no alliteration today.

ANYWAY, as you can see, this is a relatively simple look. I paired this lovely pink and cream floral skirt with my favorite button-down blouse. I adore the way these two pieces look together. The shades of cream match perfectly. It’s like they were made for each other.

Since this look was on the dressier side, and I wasn’t planning to do anything today but shop, pick up a few books at the library, and work on a blog post, I decided to also pair it with my go-to denim jacket. This denim jacket, as you may already know from my various posts about it, has been a staple in my wardrobe for a while now. I love how cool and relaxed it looks. It manages to tone down even the dressiest of outfits for a more casual, everyday vibe.

To finish everything off, I added a fun pair of cat eye sunglasses and strappy taupe sandals. Oversized sunglasses are basically my favorite thing ever. And these minimal sandals are both comfortable and stylish.

  1. It’s so cute! And I know how you feel about the OOTD pictures. I can’t wait to have my own place and get a full length mirror just for this purpose!

      1. They’re always a struggle. I think that’s why I prefer doing them in flat lays. Also I’m not happy with my figure right now. But I have goals to get back to my tiny waist and then I’ll start posting a bunch!
