Monthly Goals: June 2018

Another installment of my monthly goals to kick off your June.

I’ve got a lot that I’d like to accomplish over the next several weeks, and taking the time to write these goals down always seems to help with my execution and follow through. These posts hold me accountable. They keep me from making excuses, and they give me a clear idea of what needs to get done.

Let’s get right to it, shall we?

#1: Take breaks from social media

I don’t know about you, but I have such a hard time stepping away from social media. As a blogger, I always feel like I have to be posting, so it’s difficult for me to make time for a digital detox. HOWEVER, my hope is that I’ll find some time this month to just unplug and live. Being online is fun, but I think we can all agree there comes a time when we need some separation from the internet.

#2: Spend time outside

Summertime is my favorite time of year. So, unsurprisingly, I want to make sure that I spend as much time outside as possible. Winter really seemed to drag on this year, so I’ve been loving this nicer weather. Hopefully I’ll find a good spot to do blog work outdoors. I love my desk, but a little change of space wouldn’t hurt.

#3: Write blog posts that are different from what I’ve done

I really want to make an effort this June to push my boundaries when it comes to blogging and write content that’s different from anything I’ve done in the past. I feel like it’s important to push yourself in order to grow. And it seems as though forcing myself to step a little bit out of my comfort zone and write something different would be the best way to do that. My hope is that I’ll be able to write 2-3 posts that are differ from the norm.

#4: Increase my running distance

I’m a big runner, if you didn’t know, so another one of my goals this month is to increase my distance. I typically run for 30-40 minutes and try to go at least 3 miles during that time. I don’t really have a specific distance I’d like to reach, but I think any improvement would help.

#5: Keep up my current morning routine

Over the last few months, I’ve developed a morning routine that I’ve come to enjoy. I get up early, get stuff done, and have time for myself later in the afternoon and evening. Going forward, I’m hoping to stick with this routine. This goal is really just about keeping myself from falling off the wagon.

#6: Update my about me page

I basically haven’t touched my about me page since I started blogging, and I feel like it’s in desperate need of an update. By the end of the month, I’d love to have something else up there. It’s time for a change.

Well, that concludes my goals for June! I hope you enjoyed reading, and I’d love to hear about what you’ve got in store this month.

  1. My goal this month is to attain the goals that I have set for all these months. Your post made me think about that. I set many goals on the beginning of every month, I will work for it on the first two days, then will forget it till the next month comes. Need to work on that. Getting up early definitely needs work!!
