Summer Beauty Favorites

Well, hello.

I am writing to you from the comfort of my bed. It’s a Sunday night. I’m wrapped up in my favorite fuzzy blanket. I’ve got a tall glass of water on the table beside me, and I’m dressed in comfy clothes.

This is a highly unusual blogging situation for me. I usually write my posts in the morning, when I am at my most productive. But when I sat down in bed a few minutes ago, intent to spend the rest of the evening watching Netflix, I took a quick peek at the weather forecast for the upcoming week. And what I saw left me so excited, I couldn’t not open up a new draft and get cracking on a blog post.

This week, it’s going to be WARM and SUNNY.

That might not sound exciting if you live in a consistently warm area (or you simply don’t care about the weather), but it’s a miracle to me, honestly. Recently, the weather where I live has been either warm or sunny. We haven’t got a whole lot of both.

But because I am (fingers crossed!) going to see some nicer weather this upcoming week, I decided I would do a post about summer. And since it’s been a minute since I’ve done a beauty post here on the blog, I figured I might as well combine the two of them.

I present to you: My summer beauty favorites!

Up first, we have the Tarteguard 20 Tinted Moisturizer because if you know anything about me, you know I LOVE this stuff.

To give you a clearer idea of my foundation preferences, I’ll tell you that I like things to be as light and as minimal as possible. I hate the feeling of a heavy product weighing down on my face all day, especially in the summer when it’s humid outside.

Enter. Tarteguard tinted moisturizer.

In my opinion, tinted moisturizer or BB cream is the way to go. It’s light and it’s airy. And best of all, it makes you feel like you don’t have any makeup on your skin, while still giving you a little bit of coverage.

Another added bonus is that this tinted moisturizer has SPF. It’s always good to keep your skin protected, and when it’s at the base of your makeup, it makes it all the more easier.

Overall, I would highly recommend giving this a go.

Secondly, we have got my holy grail eyeshadow palette: Anastasia Beverly Hills Modern Renaissance Palette.

I am almost certain that anyone reading a summer beauty favorites post has heard of the ABH Modern Renaissance palette, but if you haven’t 1). HOW?! and 2). You learn more by reading my review.

Anyway, this palette complements the summer season really well. It contains several beautiful pinks, browns, and oranges that work PERFECTLY for creating warmer looks. I’ve been having a lot of fun experimenting with the different colors and finding new ones that I love. Again, huge recommendation.

Next, we’ve got something that people seem to love or hate with absolutely no exceptions: the Milk Makeup Cooling Water.

If you’re unfamiliar with it, Milk Makeup’s cooling water is a product you apply to your face that is supposed to de-puff eyes, soothe skin, and overall give you an energized look. It comes as a stick that you roll across your face. And while it’s a bit of an unusual product, I have nothing but love for it. Not only does it leave my face with a cool, refreshing feeling, it also really does help to wake me up. I like to apply a little bit when I am feeling tired and have lots to do.

The final item I have to share is the Laura Geller Baked Gelato Swirl Illuminator in “Gilded Honey.” Normally, I would categorize myself as a silver highlighter/illuminator person, but that sorta changes in the summer. Gold reminds me of sunshine, so I love incorporating it into my makeup whenever I can. This illuminator is a lovely shade of gold, and it’s incredibly pigmented.

Those are just a few of my favorite products to use in the summertime! I hope you enjoyed reading, and that you’re having wonderful weather wherever you are.

What are some of your summer beauty favorites?

  3. I’ve been looking for a tinted moisturizer for forever because I’m not big on makeup but I want something to give me slight coverage but feel like I have nothing on. I’ve also been wanting a moisturizer with spf in it as summer is here (finally). I’m definitely going to look into the Tarteguard tinted moisturizer! Great post.
