Smile Brilliant Teeth Whitening Review + Giveaway

As an avid coffee drinker, I’ve always been interested in the prospect of teeth whitening. My teeth have suffered from my caffeine habit, and I’ve wanted to do something about it for as long as I can remember. However, I kept putting it off because there are so many different teeth whitening options out there, and I wasn’t sure where to begin.

That’s why I was so excited when Smile Brilliant contacted me about trying their teeth whitening kit. I’ve tried a few teeth whitening products in the past, but none of them have led to any dramatic, long-term success. This seemed different though, and I was curious to see if it would actually end up giving my teeth the fresh whiteness I was looking for.

Before we get into my experience, let’s first talk a little bit about Smile Brilliant and how it works.

HOW SMILE BRILLIANT WORKS

After you purchase your teeth whitening kit from Smile Brilliant, you receive it in the mail within a few days. The kit includes:

  • Instructions
  • Catalyst paste
  • Base paste
  • Molds
  • Return envelope
  • Teething whitening gel
  • Desensitizing gel

The first thing you do when you get your kit is make your impressions. Combining the catalyst paste and the base paste and pressing the mixture into the molds, you make impressions of your teeth. The mixture is soft and kind of looks like royal blue clay. You sink your teeth into it for a few minutes, remove it, and then leave the impressions to harden. The process of making impressions is fairly easy, but Smile Brilliant sends you an extra set of catalyst paste and base paste in case you mess up.

Once your impressions have fully hardened, you place them in the return envelope and send them in the mail, where they are used to make your customized trays. You end up receiving your trays pretty quickly. I want to say I got mine within a week or so of sending them out.

You’ve got your trays, which means it is time to start whitening. The whitening process is a little bit different for every user because, depending on your level of sensitivity, you may be able to use it more or you may have to use it less. Based on your comfort, sessions can last anywhere from 45 minutes to 3 hours. After that, you apply the desensitizing gel for 15-20 minutes.

MY EXPERIENCE

Initially, I expected my teeth to be super sensitive. Smile Brilliant recommends that you start off with shorter sessions to give yourself time to feel out your sensitivity level, so I kept my first couple of sessions at 45 minutes.

However, I quickly realized that my teeth weren’t really that sensitive. And I was able to up my sessions to 1 hour. I found that the desensitizing gel really helped keep my sensitivity to a minimum. I would say it’s important to remember to apply it after each whitening session.

Both the whitening and the desensitizing gels come in syringes that you apply to your trays. Each syringe is supposed to get you between 3-4 sessions, so you definitely get your money’s worth in that department. The gels are clear, and they don’t leave a bad taste in your mouth. I know some whitening products can taste sort of like medicinal mint, but I didn’t get that from this one.

Another thing I would recommend is to do your teeth whitening a little bit before you go to bed. I did the majority of my sessions at night, and it was nice to get through them while I watched TV or read a book or completed any other quiet activity. Plus, you’re not supposed to eat anything for an hour after you’ve finished your session, and that’s much easier to do when you’re busy sleeping.

Now, as far as the actual whitening went, I was completely blown away by the results. I started to notice a difference in the color of my teeth after the first few sessions. It was amazing how quickly it worked to remove the stains.

The thing that made the ultimate difference between this whitening treatment and any other one I’ve used in the past was the trays. As I mentioned above, the trays are customized specifically to your teeth. To me, it seemed as though having the customized trays made the treatments easier and a lot less messy. And I believe that really translates through the results.

Here is what my teeth looked like before I started whitening with Smile Brilliant and after my seventh session.

As you can see, that is a pretty big difference after just seven sessions. I honestly can’t believe how much my teeth have changed in just a few weeks. This process has truly made my smile brighter, and ultimately made me feel more confident about my teeth.

  1. This sounds like a really good product and you can see it really works too! I’ve used whitening strips before which come off easily, the mould sounds like it’s really secure and comfortable. Thanks for sharing! 💖 xx

  2. I’ve been using a safe toothpaste that whitens mine. But I’ve been debating a brand of whitening trays for a while. Just because I’ve cut out a lot of the dark colors drinks that I used to drink all the time. Looks like you got fab results!
