Look Beauty Pretty Animalz Panda Sheet Mask Review

It’s about time for a beauty review on here, isn’t it?

It’s been forever since my last one.

Today we’ll be chatting about Look Beauty’s Pretty Animalz Panda sheet mask.

Now I don’t know about you, but I’ve seen so much about these animal-inspired sheet masks over the past couple months. They’re everywhere, and it seems like EVERYONE has tried them. Not wanting to be left out of the loop (FOMO is real, people) decided that I needed to get my hands on one ASAP (I know, lots of acronyms today).

Anyway, for those of you who aren’t familiar with these sheet masks, the big hype about them is that they make you look like you’re wearing an animal mask. It’s kind of a cute little feature, and the masks are inexpensive. It seemed like a fun thing to try.

The directions for this mask were pretty standard. Wash your face. Pat it try. Apply the mask for 10-20 minutes. Not much different than any other sheet mask you’d pick up at your local drugstore.

I tested out the mask last night. And let’s just say my first impressions didn’t start off great. The wave of chemical smell that hit me as soon as I opened up the pouch was horrendous. Imagine bleach and Clorox and nail polish remover all rolled into one. Not exactly something you’d be excited about putting on your face. But for the sake of the review, I did it anyway.

I wasn’t crazy about the feel of the mask. I haven’t used a lot of sheet masks before, so maybe this is just a personal thing. But the mask cold, heavy, and uncomfortable. Almost like a giant moist towelette applied to your face. And because I didn’t love the feel, the experience wasn’t all that enjoyable. Instead of having a relaxing evening with a face mask, I spent the entire time counting down the minutes till I could remove it.

Now, this is where the experience gets worse. Allow me to set the scene for you. I’m sitting in bed, face mask on, browsing on my laptop. Seriously disturbed by the chemical smell coming from this mask, I decide to do a quick search for reviews of this product. As I’m looking at reviews, I find that other people have had the exact same complaints. And most of these people say that the mask left their faces itchy, red, and swollen.

Imagine my horror. I’ve got this thing on my face, and it’s been there for a good 10 minutes.

I took the mask off, and fortunately I didn’t notice any itchiness, redness or swelling.Ā The mask itself was pretty cute. The panda was a fun addition that I could see a lot of people loving. If it hadn’t been for the smell and feel, I think I would have liked it just for the design.

When I woke up the next morning, I was in complete shock because my face actually felt soft. After the issues I’d had, I had pretty much expected to wake up with my skin looking terrible. So, this was an extremely pleasant surprise.

While I was happy with my skin in the morning, I don’t think it effects were good enough to outweigh the problems. The mask made my face smooth, but it smelt poorly and it felt uncomfortable. I probably won’t use it again, and I wouldn’t recommend it to anyone with sensitive skin and/or smell. If the scent was a little less harsh, I could see this being a great product.

Thank you so much for reading and have a wonderful day!

Have you tried this mask before?Ā
