A Chocolate Crinkle Cookie Recipe That You Need In Your Life

Me? Posting a cookie recipe?

I know you must be shocked.

It’s no secret I’ve shared a lot of cookie recipes on this blog. But it has been quite a while since I posted my last one. And as I was sitting around, trying to brainstorm blog post ideas today, I thought: why not make some cookies?

These chocolate crinkle cookies have been a favorite of mine since I was a kid. They’re basically cookie-shaped brownies. And who doesn’t love a good brownie?

I actually got this recipe from an old cookbook that belongs to my mom. Interestingly enough, the cookbook, which is called Hershey’s Make It Chocolate! is from the late 80s. I thought it was kind of cool to skim through the pages and see how different things were then and now. And it was also kind of cool to realize this cookbook is 30 years old, and still in good condition.

To make these cookies, you’ll need 2 1/3 cups of all-purpose flour, 2 cups of sugar, 3/4 cup vegetable oil, 4 eggs, 3/4 cup of cocoa powder, 2 teaspoons of vanilla extract, 1/2 teaspoon of salt, 2 teaspoons of baking powder, and Confectioners’ sugar.

The recipe says it should make about 4 dozen cookies. But if you’re like me and you eat cookie dough, you might end up with a little less. Which is perfectly fine to be honest because eating cookie dough is worth it…

For starters, you’re going to need to get out an electric mixer and combine your sugar, oil, and cocoa powder. Make sure to mix these ingredients well, and then gradually add in the eggs and the vanilla.

Once the mixture is blended thoroughly, put in your flour, baking powder, and salt. Beat well. Then, allow your dough to chill in your refrigerator for 4-6 hours.

After your dough has chilled, remove it from your refrigerator and begin rolling it into balls. Coat the balls in Confectioners’ Sugar and place them on a cookie sheet lined with parchment paper. Allow cookies to bake in a 350 degree oven for approximately 10 minutes.

When the cookies have finished baking, remove them from the oven and allow them to sit on the cookie sheet for about 2 minutes. Then, place the cookies on a wire rack for cooling. Voila! Your cookies are complete.

Thank you for reading, and let me know what types of recipes you’d like to see in the future! In the meantime, feel free to check out some of my other recipe posts: Peanut Butter Blossom Cookies, Cherry Chocolate Chip Cookies, Simple Pecan Sandies.

Until next time.
