I’ve officially made it through the first week of Blogmas!
*cue celebratory singing and dancing*
I’ll admit that when I first decided to take on the challenge of Blogmas, I wasn’t sure how well it was going to go. I hadn’t been planning to do it this year because I’ve been pretty busy. But I made an impulse decision a few days before the 1st to give it a try. I’m happy to have kept up with posts so far, and they have been a lot of fun to write. While it’s a tough challenge, putting content up on a daily basis is really enjoyable. Plus, I feel like it gives you the opportunity to write posts you otherwise wouldn’t write.
For today’s post, I’m going to be talking all about winter skincare. Being someone with dry skin, I tend to use a lot of different moisturizing products in the wintertime. And over the years, I’ve discovered quite a few gems. So, today I thought I would share some of my ultimate skincare essentials!
The first product I’ve been loving for the colder weather has been the Make Up For Ever Ultra HD Skin Booster. I got a sample of this serum in one of my recent Sephora Play boxes, and I’ve been using it nonstop ever since. The product makes my skin feel smooth, hydrated, and refreshed. I love putting a drop of it on my face right before I apply my makeup for that much-needed boost of moisture. I’m prone to dry skin in the wintertime, and I can safely say this serum is a lifesaver. It keeps my forehead dry patch-free all throughout the day.
Another item I’ve been loving lately is the Josie Maran Argan Oil Body Butter. I actually wrote an entire post about this product not too long ago, but I felt like it had to be included again in a post about my my winter skincare essentials. This body butter is extremely moisturizing. It makes my skin feel soft and smooth immediately after it’s applied, and the effects are long-lasting. I can put a little bit of this body butter on in the morning, and my skin will feel just as nourished in the afternoon.
This next product is one of my most recent loves, but it is excellent nonetheless. It is the Bath & Body Works Stress Relief Eucalyptus & Spearmint Body Cream (seesh what a mouthful). I’ve always been curious about the aromatherapy collection at Bath & Body, but this was the first time I actually bought a product. And so far, this has been a really wonderful purchase. The eucalyptus and spearmint fragrance has a very calming effect on me. It makes it easier for me to wind down at the end of long day, especially when I’m feeling overwhelmed. The marketing people over at Bath & Body Works really hit the nail in the head by calling this a “stress relief” cream. It has also peaked my curiosity of essential oils.
Lastly, I wanted to talk about an oldie but a goodie, which is the Clinique Dramatically Different Moisturizing Lotion. This has been a staple in my winter skincare routine for years now. I’ve always found Clinique to be a reliable skincare brand, and this lotion is one of the main reasons. The product soaks into my skin without feeling heavy or greasy. In addition, it gives me a very smooth complexion. I always like to have a bottle of this lotion around in December, when my skin tends to be at its worst. It’s definitely a good go-to.
What are some of your winter skincare essentials?
That body butter is one of my holy grail products. The scents are so divine I can’t even stand it!! I’m currently using Caramel Apple and I can’t get enough!
