5 Things I’m Looking Forward to This December

December is proving to be a chaotic month for me. Looking ahead, I know I have a busy schedule coming for me these next several weeks. Rather than dwell on the stress and the chaos, I thought it would be better to write a post detailing the things I’m excited about this month. Hopefully the knowledge that I have these wonderful things to look forward to will make the difficult things easier to manage.

Catching up on sleep

With the winter holidays fast approaching, one of the things that I’m most excited for is getting some extra sleep. To be honest, I can’t remember the last time that I had a really good night of rest. Stress and a busy workload have kept me pretty preoccupied and made it almost impossible to get a reasonable amount of sleep in. Since the holidays will give me a little extra free time, I really want to let myself relax and catch up on all the sleep that I’ve missed. I think doing this will help me recharge and return to my regular schedule with some newfound energy.

In addition to catching up on sleep, I’d also like to take some time this month to relax. This month should be a good time for me to unwind and get some blogging done. Writing blog posts is a great stress reliever for me, so I’d love to devout a good chunk of the month to getting ahead on blogs. That being said, if there’s anything you’d be interested in seeing on the blog in the coming months, feel free to let me know!

Christmas cookie baking

I mentioned in my December goals post last week that I wanted to get a bunch of recipe blog posts written this month because I’ll be doing a lot of baking. So, naturally, another thing I’m looking forward to is making Christmas cookies. Holiday baking is a fun thing that never fails to bring me back to many of my favorite childhood memories. It’s a tradition I look forward to every single December, so I can’t wait till it happens this year.

Going gift shopping

Going holiday gift shopping is definitely one of those things that I have a love-hate relationship with. While picking out presents for your friends and family can be very stressful, it can also be exciting. The moment when you find the right gift for someone is always satisfying. I really want to get my holiday shopping done early this year, so hopefully that will take some of the stress out of the process. (fingers crossed!)

Breaking out some of my winter favorites

Since winter officially begins this month, I’ll be pulling out a lot of my seasonal favorites. While I definitely prefer warm weather to cold weather, I do love many winter fashion and beauty trends. Dark lipsticks, cozy sweaters, and boots are a few essentials of mine that I can’t wait to start using again. Dark lipstick in particular is the thing I’m most excited about. I actually wrote a post about some of my favorite winter lipsticks last year, if you want to check that out.

Putting up more fashion content

One thing that I really want to do this month is focus on putting up more fashion content. I feel like out of all the areas that my blog covers, style is the most lacking. This is partially because I’ve become so interested in blog photography. I really enjoy taking and editing flatlays, which I think has caused me to neglect a topic like fashion that doesn’t involve that type of photography. Another reason I’ve put up very little fashion content is because of inconsistent weather. It seems like every time I’ve ever attempted to take outfit pictures, it has suddenly started raining or snowing.

At some point this month, I’m going to set aside a couple of days to take loads of fashion photos. Just like with flatlays, I feel like it’s best to take as many as you can when you have the optimal weather. Hopefully this will help me bring something new to my blog.

Anyways, despite how busy I’m going to be this month, I’ve got a lot of things I’m looking forward to. I really hope this post helps you reflect on some things that you have to look forward to yourself! Sometimes the best way to deal with the chaotic situations that lie ahead of you is to think about the good things  that you have coming up and use them to motivate you.

What are some things you’re looking forward to this month?

Sincerely,
