October Favorites 2017

So I’m sitting down to write this favorites post, and it’s just dawning on me that the last time I did one of these was way back in June! How mind-blowing is it that it’s been that long? I used to do favorites posts on a more consistent basis, and I’m starting to think it might be a fun thing to bring back. How does that sound?!

Anyway, since it’s been ages since I’ve written a favorites post, I’ve got plenty of things I’d like to share. But rather than bombard you all with a giant list of items, I did my best to narrow it down to only my absolute favorite things. My favorites of all favorites. And like the majority of my favorites posts, it’ll be a range of fashion, beauty, lifestyle, etc…you know the drill.

I realize I’m getting kind of ramble-ly right now. So before I go off on some unnecessarily long tangent, let’s jump straight in!

Because it’s autumn and because I’ve got ridiculously dry skin, my first favorite of the month is the Belif True Moisturizing Bomb. I’ve had a sample of this product tucked in one of my makeup drawers since it came in my September Sephora Play. I didn’t get around to trying it till October, but it’s safe it say it’s one of the most useful products I’ve ever received in a beauty subscription box.

This moisturizer has a very lightweight consistency. It doesn’t feel greasy, and it doesn’t weigh down on my skin. I like to apply a thin layer before I do my makeup in the morning, and it keeps my face fresh and hydrated all day. It’s on the pricer side of things, which is a bit of a bummer. But I’m definitely going to make the most of my sample!

Up next is not only another beauty favorite, but another September Sephora Play sample! (I don’t know why I didn’t get around to trying out my September Sephora Play till recently but oh well.) It is the Laura Mercier Velour Lovers Lip Color in “Happy.”Β I have to admit I’ve had a really strange relationship with this lipstick since I got it. While I instantly fell in love with the fun, shimmery fuchsia, I wasn’t the biggest fan of the product’s consistency. It initially felt super dry on my lips, almost like it had been left without a cap for weeks. I’ve warmed up to the lipstick since then. And while I still wish it were more moisturizing, I just love the color. The shade matches well with pretty much anything. It’s a great thing to have in your purse for when you need it.

Moving into lifestyle, one thing I’ve been loving has been my new planner! I picked up this fun, colorful Brit + Co planner from Target early this month, and it’s basically been attached to my side ever since. This planner is an organizer’s dream. It’s organized so I’m able to plot out an hour-by-hour schedule of my day, which has really helped me stay on top of things and ultimately get them done. If you’re a planner person, I highly recommend checking this brand out. The planners are cute and vibrant. And they contain pretty little quotes like the one above (and the ones I’ve been putting up on Instagram lately)!

Another lifestyle favorite of mine has been Pinterest. If you follow me on the platform, you may know I’ve been pretty inconsistent with posting on it in the past. To be honest, there have been times when I’ve forgotten about Pinterest altogether. But I’ve been getting more active on my account recently, and I’d love to connect on there as well! That being said, if you’ve got a Pinterest, let me know in the comments!

My last favorite has been my tripod. As you may know, midway through September I decided to purchase tripod for blog photography purposes. It ended up being a really great investment for me, and I got a lot of use out of it this month. I love how much easier it has made the process of blog photo-taking.

That concludes this favorites post! It’s been fun catching up and sharing what I’ve been loving lately. Hopefully I’ll do this again in the near future πŸ™‚

  1. I love reading favourites posts like this! I have also been loving using planners as well to keep on top of everything, and using pinterest more consistently – I’m still trying to figure it out but I have been loving it as a source of inspiration:)
