The Pumpkin Spice Dessert That You Need In Your Life

Hey there! How’s it going?

It’s been a minute since I’ve actually been able to sit down and write a blog post. All the content that went up this week was prewritten. I’ve been wildly busy these past couple of weeks, so finding time to blog has basically been next to impossible. I can’t tell you how happy I am to be sitting at my desk, writing this post right now.

Anyway, a lot has changed since the last time I blogged. For starters, it’s now officially autumn {insert sobbing noises here}. I know a lot of people are excited for fall to start. It’s pretty much all I’ve seen on my Twitter timeline the last couple of days. I, on the other hand, am sad to see summer go by. As cliche as it sounds, I swear summer feels shorter every year!

But since it’s fall, I felt like I should write a fall-themed post today. And what’s a better symbol of fall than pumpkin? I picked up this really great autumnal dessert the other day and I’ve been wanting to share it with you all ever since. It’s the one glimmer of goodness that has come out of the changing of the seasons so far. For me at least.

I should start by mentioning the fact that pumpkin spice and I have a love-hate relationship.

It’s the kind of thing that has me completely excited about one minute and totally over it the next.

Don’t get me wrong, I’m not here to attack the lattes or the cookies or the muffins. I’m all for the traditional sort of pumpkin spice fare. It’s when companies take it overboard that I lose my interest in pumpkin spice.

I mean, did anyone really need a pumpkin spice yogurt? Pumpkin spice gum? I’m not criticizing anybody who likes these type of things, they just seem gimmicky to me.

But I recently stumbled upon a somewhat unusual pumpkin spice dessert that has me second-guessing my annoyance with pumpkin spice. A dark chocolate pumpkin biscotti.

This biscotti is so good. So good that I felt compelled to devote an entire blog post to it.

I bought a box of these at the grocery store the other day (FYI: check your local grocery store before going out and spending $17 on them on Amazon. The one I got was there was around $3. Who spends $17 on a biscotti?!?).

As soon as I tried this biscotti, I immediately fell in love. It maintains the perfect balance between sweet and bitter. The sweetness of the pumpkin spice and the sharpness of the dark chocolate form one of my favorite combinations.

It’s the kind of treat that pairs perfectly with a good book and a cup of coffee. I can already see myself sitting down with a vanilla iced coffee and enjoying one of these.

Well, that’s really all I have for you today! Not a very substantial post, but I figured I’d let you in on what I’ve been loving lately. Have a lovely rest of your weekend!

How do you feel about pumpkin spice?

  1. Omg! I love pumpkin spice. Though, I too feel slightly annoyed by too many things being turned pumpkin spice. Like come on some things were not supposed to be that flavor! I would love to try this biscotti though. yum!

  2. I’ve never really gotten into the pumpkin flavor before, but I recently bought a few cans of pumpkin puree. I am now on the hunt to expand my palate and find some pumpkin recipes that I can enjoy. I hadn’t thought of dark chocolate and pumpkin, might have to give that a try this season.
