My Current Skincare Routine

Hey everyone!

Before I begin, I want to give a really quick apology for the lack of posts this weekend. Between sickness and the Easter holiday, I didn’t have a lot of time for writing blog posts. I should be back to normal this week, though I can’t make any guarantees. As I’ve mentioned before, April has been a pretty hectic month for me.

Anyways, today I’m bringing you all my current skincare routine. Know that when I use the word “routine,” I’m doing so very lightly. I must admit that I have a hard time using the same products in the same order every single day. Am I the only one? Maybe I just haven’t discovered my holy grail skincare products yet. That being said, this “skincare routine” is mainly a compilation of products that I’ve enjoyed over the years and tend to use on a regular basis. It might not reflect my exact day-to-day regime, but it’s about as close as it can get.

Even though I’m writing this post, I have to be honest and say that skincare content isn’t generally something that I like to do. It isn’t nearly as exciting as makeup, though I must say it’s more important. Maintaining good skin makes putting on makeup a whole lot easier. I always love clear skin days when I don’t have to worry about wearing an extremely heavy foundation or concealer. In a sense, it makes my face feel freer and lighter. So while it may not be the most glamorous of topics, good skincare is what simplifies your makeup routine.

When I wake up in the mornings, the first thing I like to do is give my skin a nice cleanse. Lately I’ve been wanting to start my days with face scrubs, such as the Clinique 7 Day Scrub Cream.  Scrubs really work to get out all the excess dirt and oil that seep into your pores overnight, as well as to leave your face feeling refreshed. While the formula of this product is a little grainy, I think it does a great job. It makes my skin feel fresh and rejuvenated, which is the best feeling to have in the morning.

Once I’ve scrubbed my face, the next thing to do is moisturize. I’m someone who is prone to dry skin, especially during the colder months, so this step is a necessity to me. A moisturizer that I’ve been enjoying recently is the Josie Maran Whipped Argan Oil Body Butter. I received a sample of this product in last month’s Sephora Play and I’ve been using it ever since. Body butter has always been one of my favorite things and this one gives me smooth, hydrated skin. With that, I can proceed on to my makeup.

At the end of the day, when it’s time for me to clean my skin again, I start with makeup remover. The Sephora Waterproof Eye Makeup Remover has been wonderful for taking off my mascara, eyeshadow, and eyeliner since I got it. It doesn’t feel too oily on my skin, or leave a greasy residue.

Depending on the day, I may then wash my face with another scrub. The Neutrogena Deep Clean Gentle Scrub is one of my all-time favorite drugstore formulas. It has that scrub consistency without being too harsh or grainy, and it leaves me with a clean face. Plus, the product is oil-free. It’s nice to know that it doesn’t contain any sort of oil that could potentially cause breakouts.

Finally, if I have any spots, I’ll apply a dab of the Origins Super Spot Remover. This stuff is really effective at reducing the size and redness of a breakout overnight. A little squirt of it can go a long way.

What are some of your current skincare favorites?

Sincerely,

Paige

  2. Some of my favorite skin care products are Caress or Tone facial soap, clean and clear moiturizer. Sometimes I use Murade skin perfection moisturizer. I also like Clinicue products like their matte foundation and if I get acne I switch to Clinique facial bar extra strength and their clarifying lotion
