Laura Geller Gilded Honey Illuminator

I’m apologizing in advance in case today’s post seems like it’s lacking in enthusiasm. If you follow me on Twitter, you may know that I’m currently dealing with the flu, so I haven’t had the energy to get content written. Nevertheless, I really wanted to put a post up today, especially since there wasn’t one yesterday. While I’m still not feeling 100%,  I’ve pumped myself full of coffee. Let’s hope the caffeine can carry me through this blog post. A part of me is worried that I’m going to fall asleep on the keyboard…

Anyways, since I’m feeling a little under the weather, today I thought that I would do a simple post that I’ve been wanting to write for a long time: a review of Laura Geller’s “Gilded Honey” illuminator.

I’ve had this highlighter for quite a while now. I received the sample in the photograph in one of my first Birchboxes and actually talked about it in one of my first blog posts. (You can check it out if you’re in the mood to laugh at something. It’s extremely cringe-worthy and the photos are atrocious).

Overall, I really love this illuminator. The first thing that immediately catches my eye is the packaging. (How gorgeous is that design?!) “Gilded Honey” is from a shade from Laura Geller’s collection of Baked Gelato Swirl Illuminators and I honestly don’t think they could have conjured up a better name. The product has a very silky appearance and texture that reminds me of gelato. It’s incredibly smooth and easy to apply.

As far as pigmentation goes, “Gilded Honey” is perfect for a sheer golden glow. The color isn’t super pigmented, so if you’re wanting something that could be seen from space (we all have those days, don’t we?), I suggest you check elsewhere. This illuminator creates a natural looking shimmer that’s great for day-to-day use. The sparkle is also really long lasting. When I use it with my Urban Decay All Nighter Setting Spray, I find that I don’t have to reapply, which is convenient for days when I don’t have the time for a touch-up.

All in all, I would consider “Gilded Honey” to be something that’s definitely worth the splurge. As long as you’re searching for a natural looking illuminator, you should have no problems with this one.

Have you tried about any Laura Geller illuminators?

Sincerely,

Paige

  1. I haven’t tried this illuminator, but I’ll keep it in mind! I use the Maybelline Mineral Powder Illuminator in Nude. I love it! But, I’m slowly getting my feet wet with highlighters! I hope you feel better soon 😀 xx

  2. I’ve never tried a high-end type highlighter, because I’m not necessarily in love with that “extreme glow” look and it seems like that’s what most of them seem to be, so this might actually be a good option for me! I like that softer type of look!
