Mally Beauty High-Shine Liquid Lipsticks Review

Looking back at my recent blog posts, I realized that I haven’t written a standard beauty review in quite a while. It’s strange because two months ago I would have told you that beauty was my most used category. I have been hitting a wider variety of topics lately, but I don’t want to completely stray away from makeup.

Feeling like the beauty category of this blog had been a little bit neglected, I sorted through my makeup to find a nice product to review. Liquid lipsticks have been a popular item these past couple of years, so it seemed fitting to review. I’ve had these Mally High-Shine Liquid Lipsticks for a few months now and I feel like I’ve developed a good impression of them.

If you are unfamiliar with these products, they are advertised as having a 4-in-1 formula that accounts for lip primer, lipstick,  lipgloss, and lip liner. That description immediately drew me in. If you know me, you know that I love to find ways to simplify my beauty routine. Having a lipstick that possesses the qualities of four different products is not only time-saving, but perfect for someone whose always on the go.

I must admit that I was a little hesitant to use these liquid lipsticks when I saw the packaging. While the tube is sleek and clean, I’m not a big fan of lip products that twist at the bottom and push product out the top. I find that they can be quite messy, especially if you’re someone like me who twists way too much and ends up causing way too much product to come out. However, I was pleasantly surprised by how easy this lipstick is to work. There isn’t a volcano-like overflow every time that I twist the bottom, and the applicator is very smooth and hassle-free. While I would prefer a removable applicator, this one doesn’t cause me any trouble.

The formula of these lipsticks is smooth and glossy. I think the designers were pretty spot-on in naming them “high-shine” liquid lipsticks. The consistency is on the sticky side, but from my experience, the lipstick seems to last a long time. I don’t have to apply as many coats of this as I would a normal lipgloss.

The first time that I tested out these liquid lipsticks, I immediately fell in love with their pigmentation. All too often I buy lip products that I think will be vibrant and pigmented only to realize that they sheer after I have already used them. Talk about disappointment. These liquid lipsticks, however, look just as colorful on the lips as they do in the tube. They are bright and nicely pigmented.

From bottom: “Pop O’ Pink,” “Orchid”

Two of my favorite colors from this collection are “Pop O’ Pink” and “Orchid.” “Pop O’ Pink” is a rich shade of hot pink that makes for a great statement, while “Orchid” is a subtler purple that I reach for in the winter months. As you can see from the swatches, these colors come out exactly as they appear in the tube.

Overall, I’m very happy with the quality of these liquid lipsticks. Besides the stickiness and the style of the tube, I didn’t find any major issues with them. Normally I’m not a big gloss person, but beauties like these make me feel otherwise.

Have you tried the Mally liquid lipsticks?

Sincerely,

Paige
