$2 Makeup Brush Storage Idea

When I realized that I hadn’t posted this DIY yet, it genuinely took me by surprise. For some reason, I thought I had written this piece early in my blogging days. Since I haven’t today seemed like the perfect time to type it up.

I don’t think that I’m overreaching when I say that makeup brushes are the most irritating things to store. As someone who likes to stay cleanly and organized, I find it difficult to keep my makeup brushes displayed in a way that is both cute and easy to access. Keeping them tucked away in a drawer makes it a nuisance for busy mornings, but sprawling them across the bathroom counter is too messy for my tastes.

Last year, I ended up picking out a couple of glass jars to keep my brushes in. However, when I got them all settled inside, I didn’t care for the way it looked. The brushes slouched up against the sides in a really disheveled manner. I realize that’s a tedious detail to be concerned with, but as I mentioned, I like things to be very neat.

Deciding I needed to do something different, I went to the dollar store and purchased a couple of new glass jars, as well as several bags of these clear decorative pebbles. I placed a handful of rocks into each of the jars and ta-da: I was done. The pebbles keep the makeup brushes upright and add a fun, ornate element to the glass jars. There are plenty of colors to choose from, so you can correlate with the color scheme of your bedroom or bathroom. Plus, these items can be found at your local dollar store. Each of these jars only cost $2 to make. It’s a convenient item for a convenient price.

How do you store your makeup brushes?

  1. I have an assortment of jars and mugs and makeup brush holders a member of my family customizes to hold them all. I just separate them by eye brushes and face brushes and then by size. I have a lot of brushes. That’s why I have mugs and jars and everything lol.
