My Current Makeup Bag

I would like to be entirely honest and admit that I haven’t worn much makeup these last few weeks, so the word “current” might not be one hundred percent accurate. It isn’t that my interest in makeup has decreased; it’s that the time I have to get myself ready has shrunk significantly. Makeup requires a lot of meticulous thought and action. And if given the choice between contouring my face or sleeping for an extra thirty minutes in the morning, I’m always going to pick sleep.

However, on the rare occasions that I decide to apply a full face of makeup, I gravitate toward the same several products. I’m fairly certain that I’ve talked about these items on this blog before, but they’ve recently become staples of mine. I tend to stick with the same products for a while before I switch to new ones. I feel like this gives me the best possible impression of the products, as well as my money’s worth.

Ipkn Radiant Cream Primer – I received a sample of Ipkn’s Radiant Cream Primer a few months ago in my Birchbox, and I’ve recently begun to adore it. Ipkn was spot-on in naming it a “radiant” primer. It is a beautiful, pearly white color that gives your skin the perfect amount of glow. The product is SPF 15, but it’s consistency isn’t like other sunscreen-based primers that I’ve used. It isn’t runny or greasy. Plus, it doesn’t reek of that potent sunscreen odor that we all know and despise.

Maybelline Fit Me Foundation – As someone who loves finding good-quality foundations on a budget, Fit Me has been a great pickup for me. A thin coat of this gives me a nice, even complexion. The color also matches my skin very well. For just $7.99, this product is definitely worth the buy.

Rimmel London Stay Matte Pressed Powder – I know that I’ve raved about this pressed powder before, but it’s so fantastic that I felt obligated to include it once again. I haven’t deviated from this powder in years. It does such a great job of keeping my face shine-free even in the most humid of temperatures. Not to mention it’s super blendable and light-weight.

Too Faced Milk Chocolate Soleil Bronzer – Buying this bronzer was a bit of an experiment for me, as I had always been loyal to the Natural Bronzer from Rimmel London. Fortunately, Too Faced’s Milk Chocolate Soleil has not disappointed. It’s smooth and lightweight and provides the perfect amount of bronze for a daytime look. While it’s on the pricey side, I’d say it’s definitely worth the splurge.

Anastasia Beverley Hills Brow Wiz – In the beauty community, Anastasia Beverly Hills is known as the best of the brows, and rightfully so. I’ve been using their famous Brow Wiz to fill in my eyebrows for years. It gives them a naturally fuller look. Plus, the product holds its pigmentation all day long.

Stila Stay All Day Waterproof Liquid Eyeliner – Wanting to go with simple eyes lately, I’ve just been applying a thin line of this liquid liner from Stila. The pen makes for easy application and the liner is smudge-free until I take my makeup off at night. This product adds the finishing touch to any look.

bareMinerals Lash Domination Volumizing Mascara – Confession: I’m not a big mascara person. I’ve never used one that I’ve really despise nor one I’ve really loved. Currently I’m using this one from bareMinerals.

Sephora Collection Lip Balm Coral Twist –  I purchased this lip balm on a whim from a sale bin at Sephora eons ago, so I don’t think it’s even still sold in stores. I frequently change up my lip color, but I always apply a lip balm beforehand. This one is very moisturizing.

What’s currently in your makeup bag?

Sincerely,

Paige
