In an effort to make my blog a bit more personal, I decided to write about what a typical day consists of for me. I apologize if this isn’t something you’re particularly interested in, but there will be a new post tomorrow that has nothing to do with my day-to-day life.
When I wake up in the morning, the first thing I like to do is go for a run. Running is an activity I enjoy because it motivates me to tackle the rest of my day. I’ll usually run for about three miles. It really helps clear my head and get me energized.
Since I use a treadmill, I typically watch Netflix when I run. I think this makes the process a bit more enjoyable. I like to stick to comedies, so I keep my spirits up. (That’s honestly the most cringe-worthy way to say it, but I can’t think of anything else). Afterwards, I’ll take a few minutes to clean up and then start my day.
For me, getting dressed is a process that either takes one minute or one hour. There seems to be no in between. Fortunately, today was one of those “one minute” days. I picked out my attire (depicted below) relatively quickly and then moved on to makeup.
Unless I’ve got big plans for the day, I like to keep my hair and makeup minimal. In fact, on this day, I decided not to wear any at all. I try do this at least once a week, so my skin can be free to “breathe.” Essentially, this keeps pores from becoming too clogged. When I go makeup-free, however, I make sure to load up on rejuvenating skin products, such as Shiseido’s Ultimune Power Infusing Concentrate. I got a sample of this in a Birchbox a few months ago, and I’ve been loving it since.
The next thing I’ll do is get some work done. With Blogmas in full-swing, I had plenty of posts to write (this one included) and pictures to take. I think it’s really critical to success to designate times to get work done. If you stick to a schedule, you’ll be sure to finish it.
After blogging, I went on a little shopping and coffee run. I had plenty of Christmas gifts to buy, so the coffee part was much needed.
With coffee and shopping all finished, I headed back to my house to get ready for a holiday party I had later in the evening. I actually whipped up eggnog pie for the occasion. And yes, I was pretty proud of the decorating skills.
I did my makeup for the party as well. I’ve really been loving dark lipsticks lately, so I wore this Rimmel London lipstick in “Bordeaux.” It’s a gorgeous matte burgundy that has quickly become one of my winter essentials. I’ll definitely be repurchasing it in the future.
Once I returned from my party, I decided to wind down with about an hour of TV. The rest of the night pretty much consisted of additional blog post writing and reading.
Thank you so much for checking out this post. If you like this type of writing, feel free to let me know in the comments.
Be sure to check back for tomorrow’s blog post. I’ll be blogging every day until the 25th.
