Blogmas #6: The Christmas Tag

Hello all!

Today I felt like participating in a tag. I haven’t done one since I started blogging, so I figured, in light of Blogmas, my first would be holiday-related. Hopefully this will help you get to know me a little better, as well as spread some festivity.

1. What is your favorite Christmas film?

I watch Elf religiously during the holiday season. It has always been my favorite Christmas movie. It’s funny and lighthearted and perfect for all ages.

2. Have you ever had a White Christmas?

Unfortunately, yes. I despise the cold weather, but where I live it’s all December is. I’d much rather have a tropical Christmas. Warm weather would make the holidays much more pleasant.

3. Where do you usually spend your holiday?

My house! My family hosts the Christmas party every year. I love it because I can stay in my pajamas virtually all day.

4. What is your favorite Christmas song?

*hides behind my hands* I don’t really like Christmas music.

5. Do you open any presents on Christmas Eve?

Yes! Christmas Eve is actually one of my favorite days of the year. My family and I open up a few gifts from some out-of-state relatives and pick up takeout Chinese food. It’s heavenly.

6. Can you name all of Santa’s reindeer?

Dasher, Dancer, Prancer, Vixen, Comet, Cupid, Donner, Blixen, Rudolph. I legitimately only know these because of the song.

7. What holiday traditions are you looking forward to most this year?

Baking cookies! During the holiday season, my family and I crank out a glorious assortment of cookies. We spend an entire day in the kitchen mixing and baking and decorating. It’s definitely one of my favorite traditions.

8. Is your Christmas tree real or fake?

Fake. The same tree has been in my house for years.

9. What is your all-time favorite holiday food/sweet treat?

This is such a tough decision. I guess I’d have to go with peanut butter kiss cookies. The name pretty much summarizes what they are: peanut butter cookies with Hershey kisses planted in the centers. I absolutely love them. Peanut butter and chocolate is the world’s best duo.

10. Be honest: do you like giving gifts or receiving gifts better?

I know this might not sound honest, but both. I’ve really learned to love buying gifts for people. It’s fun coming up with interesting things to gift. Plus, when you pick out something exceptionally good, the look on your loved one’s face is priceless.

11. What is the best Christmas gift you’ve ever received?

I’ve received so many wonderful gifts over the years, but I’d have to say my first cell phone. It was one of those sliding phones. I actually don’t even know if they still make them. While I don’t have it anymore, it was the most excited I’ve ever been to receive a gift.

12. What would be your dream place to visit for the holiday season?

Somewhere warm. As I said before, I’m not a big fan of winter weather. Maybe Florida or California.

13. Are you a pro-present wrapper, or do you fail miserably?

The absolute worst. Hence why I mentioned it in my list of worst things about the holiday season. I cannot stand wrapping presents. I’d much rather put them in bags. It’s easier and it’s less mess.

14. Most memorable Holiday moment?

I always have a difficult time answering this type of question. I don’t really have one definitive holiday moment that I consider the best. I would have going through holiday traditions is what strikes me as most memorable. Baking cookies and watching Christmas cookies are my fondest memories of the holiday season.

15. What made you realize the truth about Santa?

I actually discovered the truth about the Easter Bunny first, and then made the connection to Santa. I overhead some older relatives talking about buying candy for the holiday and I quickly realized the truth. What a gloomy day of my childhood.

16. Do you make New Years resolutions? Do you stick to them?

Not really. I don’t really believe that we should set goals at a certain time of year. Whenever I feel motivated, I do something. If I didn’t, nothing would ever get done.

17. What makes the holidays special for you?

The same cheesy things that make the holidays special for everyone, of course. My loved ones, favorite traditions, and Christmas memories.

Thank you so much for reading. This tag was fun to do and evoked a lot of fond holiday memories of mine. I strongly recommend trying it out yourself.

Also, if there’s anything else you’d like to know about me, leave your questions in the comments. I’m thinking about doing a Q&A soon!

Be sure to check back for tomorrow’s blog post. I’ll be blogging every day until the 25th.

Sincerely yours,

Paige

  1. I’ve never heard of tags, but I guess this was one. Nice to get to know you. Unlike you, I’ll play Christmas music any time of the year. I especially enjoy Mannheim Steamroller CDs. I live by myself and therefore have no need of a Christmas tree, although a friend made me a gold Christmas tree out of hangers and that stuff they string around Christmas trees. I would have probably displayed it but it’s in storage at the moment, having just moved. It’s very special to me, as that friend has now passed on. Have a happy new year and thanks for stopping by my place.
