Hello all!

August is over! It’s strange to think that a few weeks from now we’ll be in the middle of fall. Every summer seems to go by quicker than the last. I’m beginning to believe there’s a conspiracy at play…

Today I’ve decided to share my favorite things of August. Be warned: these items are very random. When it comes to my favorites, I don’t follow a particular format. Some of these are beauty products. Some of these are fashion-related. Some of these are totally and completely bizarre.

Food (?): I added a question mark to the title “food” because while these items are consumable, they don’t really qualify as substantial nourishment.

Over the past month, I’ve consumed an unhealthy amount of mint Tic Tacs and iced coffee. I plow through Tic Tacs on an daily basis, and suffer from caffeine withdraw after a day without a coffee. What’s somewhat useful about these two products is that they cancel one another out. After I drink down my coffee, which ensues in terrible breath, I can pop a couple of tic tacs in my mouth to freshen it up. These items are essential to my (questionable) diet.

Beauty:

To be honest, my makeup routine didn’t consist of much during the month of August.  Summer provokes extreme laziness in me. However, on the rare occasions I did apply makeup, my go-to lip product was a NYX Butter Gloss in the shade “Crème Brulee”. The gloss is a nice, soft pink that matches virtually any outfit you could put together. In addition, it’s a really incredible formula.

Hair:

If you read my August Birchbox review, then you already know how I feel about this Dry Shampoo Paste from R+Co. I used it quite often throughout the latest month, because it managed to effectively dry the oil out of my hair.

Fashion:

 

For the month of August, my favorite top would have to be this mock-neck tank from BCX. I’m not exactly sure whether it’s black and white or navy and white; it seems to change depending on the lighting. It’s like that horrific dress that captivated the Internet a few years ago. Sorry for bringing up that painful memory.

 

Anyways, I’ve been adoring these tie-up sandals from Mix No. 6 all summer. They definitely got the most use over the past few weeks though. The best component of these shoes is their color. Neutrals go with anything, so this pair of sandals makes planning outfits a breeze.

Entertainment:

Although I’ve already viewed every episode of Parks and Recreation, I recently started binge watching it again. This is my favorite show of all time. If you haven’t seen it, I seriously recommend you check it out.

In addition, blogging is one of my monthly favorites! I opened up this website at the beginning of August, and I have enjoyed every minute of creating content for it.

Books:

For the sake of my future book reviews, I’m not going to go into detail about the novels I read in August. I will, however, name a few:

• Rules For 50/50 Chances by Kate McGovern
•  Unearthly by Cynthia Hand
